Was cruising the Costco site and noticed they have the Pioneer VSX-1014 receiver for $399. Maybe not an authorized dealer but Costco has a better warranty.

Just realized this is the 1012, not 1014. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Admins feel free to delete this post

I was about to regret my recent purchase of the 1014 from onecall...but then I noticed Costco is selling th 1012, not the 1014.

Onecall just called me by the way, they were making sure that I got my receiver and everything was working ok.

Ooops, my bad! I coulda sworn it was the 1014. Bad mistake on my part. As Gilda Radner once said on SNL...nevermind!

That's a good price on the 1012. It is normally more expensive than the 1014. Best buy has it listed at $599 while the 1014 is $499.

Is the main difference that the 1014 does PLIIx and the 1012 doesn't? Do they both have the auto MCACC?

And what DACs does the 1012 have? 192/24 or 96/24??

I tried asking Pioneer but their reps answering email have no idea what they're talking about.....

That's a great price for the 1012! I believe it is the same as the 2012K that was sold last year, which in itself is a rebadge version of the Elite 45TX from 2 years ago. If you don't need PLIIx, then its a steal. THe $599 at BB was their sale price, normally its $799. Goodguys closed the 2012K units out at about $600 a few months back. You are essentially getting a 2 year old Elite for about $400, so its something to think about.
