The return of the Alien Quadrilogy 20.00 discount!

Alien Quadrilogy regularly priced at $64.99 gets a $20.00 discount at the register for a $44.99 final price! This is $2.00 more than the deal last year.

The Star Wars Trilogy regularly priced at $43.99 gets a $9.00 discount at the register for a $34.99 final price!

Sorry, I was on the road when I realized I didn't catch when it expired.

Thanks Patrick.

Any idea what the final price might be? I'm guessing around the $200 mark.

Costco charges $80.99 for the individual season sets, so I'd expect the full set to be under $243 before coupon. I notice that the website lists the individual seasons at $84.99 though.

Looks like Costco decided to just enter the instant discount in their checkout register databases.

Just to add to the "do I need a coupon" requirement, and notwithstanding that they are (now) getting rung up as instant rebates...just mentioning that you know there is a coupon for it is usually good enough for the cashier, especially if he/she has a bunch of used ones lying around. I mean, it's not as if these coupons are available only to a select number of Costco members...;)

Are those "Signature Collection" boxed sets all $30 normally now? I don't remember the Marx Brothers or Scorsese sets being that cheap. (But I'm happy to be mistaken! :) )

According to my list, those signature sets are normally around $30. I took my flyer and wrote down the normal prices last week and then updated the first post.

Aaron,
I think you live fairly close to me, so maybe this info will help. At my local Costco (East Boca on Congress near I-95) the signature sets vary in price. The Marx Brothers, Scorsese, Horror, Noir, and Tarzan collections are all about $10-$15 more than the actor/actress sets. Still, some great buys. I'm thinking of picking up the Cary Grant set, for what comes out to about $4 a movie. Can anyone speak to the quality of this set, either the discs or the movies?

Marc, I will be hitting that very Costco on my way home from work in a few hours. :) (I work at the T-Rex/ Blue Lake office park.) I unfortunately *just* bought the Noir set there a month or so ago. :frowning:

I just wish they sold gasoline, like they do in Lantana.

Costco will usually give you a price adjustment for an item that has gone down in price. If they don't, then rebuy the Noir set and return it with your old receipt.:)

Hm, maybe I'll bring my old receipt to the store and see what they'll do. I figured that it's been too long since I bought it (over 30 days, I think).

Costco has a very liberal return policy. If you have a receipt, it doesn't matter if it's been 6 months.

Yeah, they treated me right when I discovered my Angel S2 DVD set had duplicate discs. Fortunately I had a receipt and I was given a refund. As it turned out, they didn't have any in stock at the time, but S3 was being released in a few weeks. When it came time to buy both, they were running a 10.00 discount with the purchase of S3 with another Angel or Buffy title. So basically I got a refund AND $10 off!

Also, if you give Costco items as gifts to non-Costco members that are in need of being returned (without possession of the receipt), they can still get a gift card for the amount of the item, and a 1-day shopping pass at Costco. I saw this develop in front of my eyes at the service desk. I guess it's also a good way to let non-members get a glimpse of how a Costco membership could be a good idea.
