They don't have anyway to talk to anyone in a particular department at our store here. I would like to see this set for sure. I wonder what they would charge for shipping locally from the warehouse to my house though. I don't know anyone with a truck big enough.
BTW, what goes this thing measure? From what I can tell it is supposed to be about 60 inches tall, 60 inches wide and about 30 inches deep. What does your work out to be?

The set is 60x60x30 and weighs about 400. Plan on 4 guys to move it any distance. Id be willing to bet that if you talked to the right manager at the store they could get one in for you without any shipping charge. Most local delivery companies would then do pick up and in home setup for about $50. In Charlotte, the going rate was $30.

I had lunch today with my A/V specialty store salesman/friend. I mentioned to him about the decrease in price of the 65H80 from Costco. He checked his computer and found that the 65H80 had been 'X-ed' from the system. He said that means a price drop is coming again.
I asked him if he thought the set could be do-able for about 2 grand and he said he thinks so.
His reasoning is this: Toshiba wants to get these sets out quickly and get their new models into the stores before September when new model HD sets must contain a built-in HD tuner. Toshiba may be wanting to get their new sets in under the wire.
I bought a 40H80 from him in February. If the price for the 65H80 gets close to $2,000, I just might go for it.
This is not gospel, I'm only relating a conversation I had today. This guy wouldn't bullshit me.

wouldn't suprise me at all to see a 65H80 at $2k or less in the near future. heck, Costco dropped the price $300 just a couple of weeks after they began carrying it.

The 65H80 is about $2700 from onecall.com, plus shipping.
Shipping might be less with onecall.com than costco
(depends on where you live) but costco probably has the better
deal overall, since the price before shipping, at onecall.com
    is about $200 more.

    I don't think all the 2002 Toshibas have a built-in HD tuner.
Some 2002's will, but not all.
I think prices are going down because of competition,
and the desire to clear out the 2001's before they eat
    into 2002 model sales.

Will, I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what that article and the quotes have to do with the Toshiba TV. Please enlighten me. [IMG]

They're actually pretty easy to move out of the box, and don't require door removal, etc. Just throw a blanket over it to avoid scratches and be a wee bit careful. Moved mine with 2 guys plus a person just sort of steadying it on the side.
However, I'm still burned that I bought mine six months ago for $4250 (and that was on sale).

I ordered one from onecall.com this morning, and it should be here next week. I figured I had to buy one to go along with the Toshiba 6200 I bought last week. [IMG]

Ryan, why in the world would you order from Onecall?? REad on their site: if the TV is bad, you are stuck dealing with Toshiba. Id pay an extra 1-400 to buy through a legitimate business such as Costco.
