Hello,
Yesterday I was making a Christmas list at Circuit City, (building my first entry level surround sound system) and I came across an open box Onkyo TX-SR500 for $250. On top of that, they were running a promotion for free $80 surround sound speakers with any DTS receiver purchase -- I didn't want the speakers so the sales rep took $80 off the price of the receiver = $170. I hooked it up and am fairly pleased with the stereo sound right now. I also may be in a position to purchase a used Denon 1802 receiver for close to $300.
Which do you all think would be the better buy? I would use it for about 40/60 music/movies. I am also going to get JBL N38 front speakers a JBL N Center and haven't decided on rears or sub yet. Is the Denon worth $130 more?
Why?
Thanks for your input,
-Mike
