My girlfriend has some audio tapes that her dad's garage band made "back in the day". For his b-day this year, she wants to convert them to CD.

What sort of hardware/software do I need to make this happen? I have both a Mac and a PC, and don't care which one I use to do this. I need some way of connecting the tape player to the computer and then capturing the input.

    Any advice would greatly appreciated!

    Jeff,

Dunno if you feel safe sending the tapes through the mail: but since this is a very nice idea and a sweet gift, and since I'm a native Ohio boy: I'd offer to do a remastering pass on the material for you.

If you're interested, drop me a line. I have all pro audio gear and studio tools.
