I'm looking to convert .mov file to files that will play in Window Media Player? First question is, what format should I convert them to? Is there any free software available to do the conversion?

Another option is to go to VCD Helper. This site will show you how to convert from virtally any format into virtually any other format, while giving you site links to download specific software, if necessary.
