OK, now I need help on this one. When playing cable TV or DVD, and I push (mute-1-8-3-power) to check the grid
it is perfect. BUT when I connect the DVD player to the DTV inputs, push play the grid is distorted badly. When
connected to the DVD inputs, and press "progressive" I get 2 out of sync pictures. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Most CRT projectors that can accept different input scan rates have separate convergence memories for each. That means that the convergence you do for 480I inputs will not apply to 480P or 1080I inputs. You just have to be running an input at the correct scan rate, and then perform the convergence process separately.

I'm sure some people have had their RPTVs for a year or more sometimes before finally hooking up a progressive-scan DVD or HDTV input and are surpised that they need to redo their convergences for these different scan rate sources.
