I am unable to line up the red cross when doing convergence 1, I can move it up, down, and to the left, but it will not move all the way to the right and get behind the white cross.Any idea what the fix is for this? All lettering on the screen has a red outline because of this

Sounds like your centering magnets need tweaking.

Center your offending color in your user convergence crosshairs, even tho it may be way off - send it to the ends of the earth and then average that, to get to dead center of the ADJUSTMENT for it, both Hor. and Vert. - and then play with your centering magnets for the red gun till the center of the crosshairs is at the center of the screen. Put some Elmer's on the rings, to secure them from vibrating to some other position. Don't use too much, just enough to immobilize them.

DON'T confuse the astigmatism correction rings with the centering rings. The centering rings are closest to the CRT face, the astigmatism rings are closest to the socket card, and there are multiple pairs of them. The centering rings are strictly one pair, which work against each other.

This is all backwards if you are working on an old Kloss Novabeam with the reverse reflecting gun, but it applies here, and to all new gen RPTVs with regular phosphor face guns.

You can find where center of your screen is by attaching 2 strings to opposing corners, so that they cross each other in the middle. However, perhaps you should center it on the green, just to be safe. Doing so would guaranty you will have as much play as possible in your static user convergence settings, for properly superimposing on the green, which is your template.

BE CAREFUL ANYTIME YOU ARE INSIDE A TV. HV CAN KILL YOU.
