i was wondering if anyone knows of any upcoming mini-dv camcorders that'll do progressive scan? i found this one by panasonic, but it's way out of my price range and way more than i'll ever need for home video. i'm not going to be getting one for another few months (at the earliest) but i always like to plan ahead and see what's out there, what's coming up, what features to look for, etc....

I use the JVC DVM90 (I think that's the model) Which can do progressive scan. It also does the 16:9 anamorphic squeeze. I'm not sure if it's still available. I'm also not sure how well it works, I've had problems and I'm on my second one, but I've not used either of them too much.

I had excellent results using premier or virtualdub to de-interlace raw minidv output from my Canon ZR10. it was obviously not capable of progressive output natively, but the post-processed results were great.
