Well, you can get 1 here:

    Connections 1

2 and 3 were released by Discovery Channel, and to the best of my knowledge were only available on VHS.

I purchased Connections One & The Ascent of Man from these people. Quite expensive as I paid the full price & not the sale price. Quality of the Connections DVDs is equal to or slightly better that VHS. It is not a real sharp image. Quality of the Ascent of Man is lower than the Connections DVDs. It is less sharp. Unless you're willing to accept this level of quality, don't buy. I bought them because my want for them was extreme, but I truly wish they had sharper transfers. I'd re-buy if they were re-released in better transfers but only at a lower price point.

Jeff: Thanks for the info. I can relate to your extreme desire to own Connections. Watching one episode turns me into a hyperactive adult for about a week! I'd really like to have all 3 series on DVD.

Bruce: Thanks for the link. I'll order Connections 1 today. I clicked on the DVD link at the bottom of the page & there was another link to Connections 3 that will be available in June of 2003! [IMG]

You're quite welcome. I've been holding off on buying these as I was concerned about quality, and put off by price. I guess I can bite the bullet at the sales price, but go in with the knowledge that is is VHS or slightly better quality.

But it is too good a program to miss. Have to admit, I always preferred the first series, as they seemed more in depth, and less 'frenetic' than the later series.

Off to place my order now [IMG]

I paid a high price for the 2 series, but they have given me a lot of pleasure so I guess they were worth it.

I have been on the fence about this for a year!
I got burned bad when I did the "special" offer
for My So-Called Life when I did a prepay for $99
and the set ended up coming out at Best Buy for $45.
I wonder if this will ever end up at overstock or
    some other close out site?

I doubt it. The main buying audience that these sets are aimed at is usually Educational, not the general public.
