I have a Ref-30 I want to connect to my PC. I have the software from B&K and am using both Win 98 and Win 2000. The port on the Ref-30 is an "RS232" but requires an "RJ45" connector. I have tried hooking up the Ref-30 to my local network hub with no success using standard cable.

Question: What needs to be done so that my PC can detect the Ref-30 in order to communicate with it? Any ideas?

There is a wiring diagram in the software that explains it. It's one of the PDF files. You need to get a RJ45-Db25 or Db9 adapter. They are available at Radio Shack. Basically, the B&K needs to communicate with the PC via a comm port, not a network adapter.
