Hi, I’m wanting to hook my Arcam avr390 to Dayton dsp 408 to two amps. Amp 1 is a Parasound hca806, which will have the front l/r, center, and side surrounds. The av64 will have a set of overheads and the rear surrounds.

Does it matter which preamp outs I use on the Arcam receiver?
The Dsp 408 has 4 inputs and 8 outputs. Can I use a y connector for two of the output channels? I also have a Minidsp 2x4 for the two powered subs. I assume rcas would run from the two subwoofer outputs?

I’m sorry for my ignorance. Thanks for your help.

Use the Aracam outputs for the channels you want the 408 to process. You have a nine-channel system, but the 408 will only process 4 channels.

I’m at a loss regarding what the goal is here. This is an Atmos capable receiver. It should be capable of any processing, timing and eq needed, without adding a bunch of additional ad>da>ad conversions.

Since the 408 will only process four channels, you will not be able to process both the front / rear speakers, and the sub. You will have to decide which channels you want the 408 to process. The others get no processing, or you get a second processor for them.
