I have the Denon 3802 and a JVC SA70BK. Would I be better off running the JVC directly to my Hitachi 53uwx10B or to the Denon, and from the Denon to the TV?

It's always best to go directly to the TV, but if you have multiple Component sources with only 1 Component input on your TV, then using the receiver to switch would be ok, and maybe your only option.

Some receivers pass video signals better than others, and you may or may not see any Video degradation. Personally I used to use my Kenwood to switch my S-Video sources and did not see any degradation at all, now I only have a DVD player in my HT room so I go directly to the TV.

If you only have 1 Comonent source then definitely go directly to the TV.
