Yep if you were just watching he got very detailed [IMG] Maybe it will open up people's eyes who still want "full screen"

It's because Conan went HD today.

Tell her to get an HD ready set then.

She said she doesn't want a hd set even though she can afford it and just bought herself a flat screen. I don't get her, she's weird. I told her in a few years, all new tv will be in wide and she said she'll just stop watching then.[IMG]

it was pretty hilarious the way he talked about it, with the him blacking out the "old" areas and exposing only the new sides, and his face leaning out to them [IMG]

he first brought it up by saying 'for the first time we're broadcasting in 16 by 9... all you star wars fans out there will know what i mean by that'

Yeah Conan playing around with the wide spaces was hilarious.

I seriously doubt the show will be broadcast letterboxed from now one. Althought it was nice seeing the WHOLE 16x9 image being used for the interviews.

They had to find some way to fit his entire head on-screen. [IMG]

Started last night and looked great. Not quite the look of Leno(glossy) but still quite good if not excellent.

Its better they start forcing letterboxing on 4:3 TV folk, if only because it will allow shows like CSI and 24 to forget shooting stuff 4x3 safe and using the whole 16:9 frame.

    Paul,
That's why there is a good buzz about this and why people at AVS are emailing Conan and them to let them know how much they appreciate that.
