    I know these discs are a few years old. Are they worth picking up or should I wait for new SE's?

    Face/Off is the better of the two discs because it has an Anamorphic transfer...both feature nice transfers...even though Con Air is NA...and excellent DD5.1 tracks...you can get both for $14 at WalMart...I'd say go ahead...get em...I doubt theres gonna be an SE anytime soon....

    I don't think that there will be special editions of these titles. If there is, then it will probably be in a few years. I say just go ahead and get them. I would go for Face/Off since, as Joshua_Y said, it has an anamorphic transfer.

    Face/Off may be anamorphic, but it's so grainy it's almost unwatchable for me.

    For multiregion enabled people;
    there have been reissues of both Face/Off and Con-Air
    for R2 and R4 with 2.35:1 anamorphic transfers and
    featurettes added. The quality of the picture is
    said to be a lot better than the first releases.

    I would not get either of these releases (just me personally) and especially because of the lack of 16x9 on Con Air. For this reason I also do not have Armageddon in my collection. I will wait until anamorphic support.

    Face/Off. The transfer isnt perfect, but damn the sound is good. Con Air I never bothered watching the DVD since I spent the entire time in the theater laughing at the film.

    FWIW, the laserdisc of Face/Off is really top-notch if you have ld capability. The audio rocks.

    Both CONAIR and FACE OFF was released in AUSTRALIA as special editions.
    Bothe special editions are available in NTSC release in TAIWAN and HK as well-with FACE OFF in DTS surr.

    Seems that both region release carries same extras.

    On FACE OFF,personally i will wait for any future DTS release from PARAMOUNT. As for CONAIR...if there isn't any future moves from BVHE,most probably i will go the the asian release.
