Friends,
Do you recommend any other computer user forums?
I am a power user and just want to keep up with current issues.
I really enjoy the HTF Computer Area and plan to keep contributing. It is hard to beat the bulletin board software here. I just want to read more.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Yeah, I'm interested in the names of some good forums. I think I'm jinxed or something, because a third one I used to be a regular at has now closed

Lee,
The computer is a tool that serves a wide variety of interests, so the kind of forum you're seeking depends on your preferences. I would assume not many here use 3D Studio Max (3D modeling and rendering software), but for what it'd worth, here it is:
http://www.discreet.com/support/
Or you can go to: http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/main.html if you are a Photoshop junky.
Or if you just want to rant on your political viewpoint, become a Freeper and check out http://www.freerepublic.com

[sorry, this is more or less off topic]
Mike,
You mention 3DS MAX, does this mean you use it? If so, do you happen to have any examples online?
I use it as part of my BFA (Multimedia) program at University, and am always interested in seeing other people's work...
BTW, another decent forum is http://www.virtualdr.com
Cheers,
~Kris M

Kris,
Glad to here from another Max user. I've used the product since the days of 3D Studio R2 (DOS). I do have still and animation samples on-line, and would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about Max.
Click on the picture below that was created in 3DS Max, and you will get you to my portfolio. "Cindy" was originaly created as a cartoon character for a comic strip in the 80s, but brought back recently in 3D Studio Max to star in an animation for my demo reel.

If you have any samples of your own, I would be like to see them!
Best Regards
-Mike

I also belong to Anandtech . I find the folks there to be very willing to help. I had a thousand (ok maybe a hundred) questions when I was building my first pc in August and lots of great advice.
For software try VirtualDR .
For AMD specific discussions try AMD Forums . Lots of discussions about processors, overclocking and there's a forum for each major Motherboard manufacturer.

This is very helpful folks.
Thanks for the suggestions. As for the search function, it is (a) too obvious and (b) extra work...
