I'm thinking about trading in my old computer towards a new one at Gateway. As of now, I have a Gateway Essental which I bought over two years ago from Gateway on the Your-ware program, but have upgraded that computer over the years. How much do you think I can get for my current system which includes:

    - 500 MHz Intel Celeron Processor
    - 256MB of SDRAM
    - 10GB Hard Drive
    - 10x/40x Pioneer DVD-114 DVD-ROM Drive
    - 8x/4x/32x HP CD-Writer 9100 CD-R/CD-RW Drive
    - 8MB ATI Rage Video Card
    - Floppy Disk Drive
    - 56K Modem
    - 10/100 Ethernet Card
    - 15" Monitor
    - Speakers

Here is a hint, Dell has a trade-in program, I have a Dell Dimension XPS T500 (a real popular model and pillar of Dell's product line), P3 500, 256MB, 13G (7200) HD, DVD drive, 16MB Diamond Viper (TNT), QI HW DVD decoder, 250MB IDE Zip, Diamond Monster II Sound card, 56K modem, and at the I checked, it had about one month warranty left (out of 3 years). The system is pristine and have never had any problems. The trade-in value is (Drum Roll...):

$26, Yes, TWENTY-SIX Dollars. No, I did not trade it in.

    Matt,

You might be able to squeeze ~$200 for it if you are lucky, doubt much more than that...
