I have 1 computer.

Pentium 3

550 mhz

7500 rpm

128 RAM

4.3 GB SCSI hard drive

Yamaha SCSI CD burner

I got the whole computer with Sony Trinitron monitor for $500 from my brother in law.

This computer was specially built with SCSI(scuzzy?) components, to play "Half Life" and some other games, that's all, it was built for gaming.

My wife uses it for her scrapbooking projects and other things.

I pretty much only use it to web surf and hang out at my HT forums, and occasionally burn some CD's.

I have been told my computer is faster than some of the newer 1000+mhz ATI's, and IDE's(whatever that means).

One computer, use it for everything. Just got done putting it together yesterday:

P4 1.7 GHz

GeForce 2 GTS 32 mb

256 mb RAM

60 gig hard drive

Really love the thing. It replaced an old P2 266. What a difference!

I use my laptop running win2k for work.

I have a macintosh for home, basically used for e-mail, word processing, accounting stuff.

I will buy a new mac when the prices come down for dvd burners. Probably by next summer.

1) I have two laptops, and one desktop, which functions as a server.
2) I use mine for everything in my life. My girlfriend uses hers for web surfing, email, and powerpoint presentations for work.
3) The two laptops are both Apple Powerbooks. Mine is a Powerbook G4 667mhz, with 256mb ram and a 30gb hard disk. My girlfriends is my old powerbook, which is a Powerbook G3 500mhz, and its got 512mb of ram and a 48gb hard disk. Both have DVD rom drives, and I have an external firewire cdrw drive.
The server is a Celeron 300mhz with 256mb of ram and a 20gb IDE disk. Its running RedHat 7.2, and does my webhosting and email services. It sits on a T1 line all to itself :)
4) Wireless was on my short list of things to get, but since I've got that, I'm good for the moment. Looking at entirely rebuilding my server system, with a RAID disk array and multiple-processors. Its overkill for what it does, but it'd be a lot of fun to play with. I've thought about getting a system to play games on at home, but my friend runs a cybercafe,so its really not necessary.

I have 3 other P233 computers with no names that I don't keep any set O/S on, I just use them as needed.
A few months ago I threw out eight Intel-based 286 computers and two NCR Unix towers that weighed about 8492374 pounds. I think there is a picture of all of them somewhere on my web site. You should have seen the garbage man's eyes when he came around the corner and saw all the computers and monitors! :)
My entire home network is switched using several Cisco 2924 XL switches. I maintain a separate internal network and an external network/DMZ. I also have a couple of Cisco 2500 series routers and CSU/DSUs for T1 testing purposes. Everything is on APC UPSs.

A lot of cool systems here at the HTF.

I have 6 computers myself (although 2 are only Pentiums and just sit around collecting dust and one of the remaining is on permanent loan to my son). My (current) systems:

HTPC:

PIII 800EB on Asus TUSL2-C

Corsair 256MB PC133 CL2

ATI Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO

Philips Acoustic Edge

Enlight 300W desktop case

Maxtor 10G HDD

Toshiba 1502 DVD-ROM

Win 98SE

Surfing/gaming:

PIII 1000EB on Asus TUSL2-C

Crucial 512MB PC133 CL2

gf2 mx400

Philips Acoustic Edge

black Lian Li 350W aluminum case

IBM 20G IDE HDD and 2 IBM 9G SCSI HDDs (Adaptec controller)

black Lite-On CD-ROM

black Teac floppy

CTX 17" monitor

Win 98SE

Burning/downloads/DVD extras/misc.:

PIII 733 on Tyan Trinity 400

512MB PC133 CL3

TNT2 Vanta

Vibra16

WD 8.4GB HDD

LG CD-ROM

TopG DVD-ROM

Lite-On CD-R/RW

WinXP Professional

NEC 15" monitor

Son's room (used for gaming and schoolwork):

PIII 800 on Tyan Trinity 400

384MB PC133 CL3

gf2 mx200

SB AWE64

IBM 15GB HDD

Philips 17" monitor

Samsung DVD-ROM

Mitsumi CD-ROM

Win 98SE

In the future, I am thinking about building a Northwood P4 system. Not sure of the board yet b/c can't yet decide on Rambus or DDR but am leaning toward Rambus. RAID is another possibility with my 2 IBM SCSI HDDs though they are a bit outdated nowadays.

In the more immediate future, dual booting WinXP and 98SE is on the 'to-do' list. I would also like to upgrade my vid card in the gaming/surfing computer; probably a gf3 Ti200.

2 - Old games, surfing
3 - Surfing, business, work, some video editing, some gaming
4 - None
5 - None (currently sitting in my backyard)
3-What are your system(s) specs (if you're into this sort of thing)? E.g. P4 1.5GHz w/ Abit TH7 mobo, IBM HDD, etc.
See Qu.1
4-Are you planning to upgrade in the near future? If yes, what is on your wish/short list?
No, since my dad is a cheapskate and wont get me a new computer :P) Seriously, since i got a dremacast, i dont need my PC to game, and my computer is adequate enough to burn stuff, and to surf the internet comforatbly. Though if i do get one, it'll need to be able to do video ediiting and stuff. Best if it had a DVD-writer (Still confused with DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVDRAM, etc etc etc) :)
