What is the maximum lenght of component cable I can use without degradation versus a S-Video cable?

Assuming your device has no issues driving long lengths of cable the general answer would be about 50 feet for svideo (but some have run 3x that and not commented adversely) and about 150 using a good quality RG6 coax. Obtaining this via mail order such as at AVCable is not going to come cheap in view of s/h and all that. An alternative would be to purchase a 500 foot roll of RG6 and cut what you need. FWIW, AVCable uses something they call hi-rez for their long lengths of component. It's made by Gepco and is roughly equivalent to Belden 7710a I believe.
