So I'm going to (finally) move my components off the RPTV into a recessed wall rack. The issue is moving the DVD player ~30 feet from the display. Everyone I've spoken to here recommends 3-meter max cable length for component interface between DVD and display. That means I leave the player on the set, move everything else and route a long digital audio cable to the pre/pro.
Anyone have a different opinion? Can I drive a 30-foot cable set and expect anything better than S-video image quality?
DVD is Sony DVP-7700
RPTV is Pioneer Pro-610HD

Absolutely. I run two different 50' lengths of Component Cables from my equipment to my Sony VW10HT projector (two separate Component Inputs) with absolutely no problem. A length of 30 feet, using a quality cable, is not a concern.

RAF is absolutely correct. The advice you got to keep your run at 3 meters or less was not sound. Good luck.
