I am using a single high quality component cable in place of a coax cable from my DVD player to my receiver.

Would I be losing any sound quality via this method or is my component cable plugged into the digital coaxial connections doing exactly the same thing with no loss of sound quality?

    Thanks, nc

Well, if you're not hearing any dropouts, you're good to go. The cable ought to be 75 ohm which you can check by consulting the manufacturer, but there are even times when one can use a coat hanger with complete success.

Thanks Chu, I'll save my money on digital coax cable and put it into something more worthwhile.
