Component output quality on the Oppo? (1 Viewer)

So, my TV only has 1 DVI input, and its currently being used for HDTV from Dish. How is the quality on the component outputs for the Oppo? I was planning to buy this one, but may be reconsidering. Can it be hacked like the samsung to upconvert over component? Are their specific samsungs that cannot be hacked?

The Oppo 971H component outs aren't even connected to the faroudja stuff.
