I'm looking to upgrade my old Marantz DVD player to a nice progressive scan version. Anyone have the DV4300 and have any comments on it?

Do a search on 4300 and a few things come up. I tried to get some info on this but I didn't get much response. I don't think many people have this one. If you are looking for a nice DVD player in this price range the Denon DVD910 is a good one. That is probably what I will get.

Looking around at the offerings of Sony and others it seems the Marantz unit really doesn't offer the capabilities of the other units. Marantz can't do DVD recordable media and only has a 10 bit video DAC while most have a 12 bit DAC and recordable DVD support. Sony's offers 108Mhz processing on the video, compared to the standard 54Mhz. I've never seen the units so I can't vouch for how their 'stats' stand up in the real world. Typically Marantz has been audio and video quality than the cheaper mainstream systems.

    But still.....
