There are over four hours of bonus features on our upcoming The Little Rascals - The Complete Collection (Centennial Edition), and with production wrapping up, here's a sneak peek at clips from "Las Fantasmas", the Spanish version of When the Wind Blows (1930).

Of the four foreign language Our Gang shorts produced simultaneously with the English language versions by Hal Roach, this is the only film that survives in a complete form.

ENJOY!

so they had all the actors learn spanish (more or less), overdubs weren't the norm I quess? Much easier with silent films, just trade out the dialog cards and you're good to go!!

Presented here are a few clips from our restoration of the silent Hal Roach Our Gang short MARY, QUEEN OF TOTS (1925).

In addition to the image restoration, silent film accompanist Ben Model composed and performed a new score for TOTS.

TOTS, along with two other silent Rascal shorts, will be in our upcoming The Little Rascals - The Complete Collection (Centennial Edition). It will also be included some time next year in a yet to be determined silent Little Rascal collection.

ENJOY!

David,

Will the standalone Vol 6 BD be back in stock by the time the Centennial Edition Bonus Disc is available to ship?

IF so, wish I can order both on the same (pre)order to be shipped together...

Our Gang restorations on TCM today!

We're in the middle of a project to scan, restore and release on Blu-ray and DVD as many of the 88 Our Gang (Little Rascal) silent film shorts which survive. We've have completed three restorations of the silents which will be included as bonus features in our upcoming The Little Rascals - The Complete Collection (Centennial Edition).

Today, however, is National Silent Movie Day and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is celebrating by playing 24 hours of silent films. Included in the lineup are 2 of the 3 Our Gang silent films we've restored: The Big Show and Dogs of War! (both 1923). If you have TCM get on over and preview our restorations. You can also see a clip of The Big Show below.

So Hoppy is the Western star you hinted at months ago, David. Excellent! Hope we see all 66 restored and looking fantastic. Can't wait!

Yes. We made mention of it in our first "Newsletter" posted today.

The elements have their challenges, but they will look great when finally restored.

For those films/reels of which only 16mm survives, we are determined to restore and release those as well as they will still be the best version publicly available for the instance.

"The most frequent question we get is to release the 28 Blondie feature films made at Columbia. We have been trying for years to license them, but the rights holder has no interest in pursuing a deal. Wish we had better news on it..."

I assume King Features/Hearst still owns the underlying rights (the original comic strip). Do they still own the rights to the movies, or is it someone else?

KF still own them, but have licensed rights out to another company (a very large one) that doesn't release any classics of their own.

Henry Playhouse site, so informative and more so that there is a link on the episode where you can go and read the original short stories that the episode was adapted from,
