Thanks to Thomas T., I found out that this film, which I have for years been relentlessly campaigning for to get a Blu-ray release in the U.S., is coming in July on a Region B release from Koch Media:

This is one of the finest of director Alexander Mackendrick's nine feature films (look him up -- he's made some real classics), and received a pretty good DVD release from Fox some years ago. It has such a complex plot line (if you look beneath the surface pirate yard) and three-dimensional characters that it offers both high seas adventure and a very interesting psychological study. Stars Anthony Quinn and James Coburn, Terrific, memorable, and beautifully shot, the film was taken from the director and cut by roughly a half-hour (none of that footage apparently survives) to the current 103, but it still works. Very well indeed. I heartily recommend this. And thank you, thank you, Koch!
