    Hello all,
Pl. help me. I recently had the dish installed for 2 recievers. The home is new and hence has RG-6 runs. The installer brought in the staeliite input to the basement and using a splitter (SW21?) connected the RG6's for the two rooms. So, at the cable jack in these rooms I get the sat signal. This is fine since this was an elegant solution.
Now, I'm thinking of getting the 8VsB and a OTA antenna. I also have local analog cable (free at least for now [IMG] . How can I combine the OTA or the cable input so that I can get a combined OTA+satellite signal at the cable jacks in the 2 rooms? I would prefer not to run separate cabe runs to the rooms for the OTA part if I can avoid it.
    Thanks.

You need a diplexer (actually two of them). They look like this: Diplexer
You will combine the OTA signal and the sat signal into the diplexer. This will put both signals onto one wire. You will then use another diplexer at the sat receiver to split the two signals back out.

    Thanks.

BTW, How does a $20 diplexer differ from a $5 video splitter? Electrical power handling?
