Combining Game Sound with CD Music? (1 Viewer)

My PSX2 has fantastic sound through my Denon 1801 receiver, but I really miss listening to CDs while I play.

I can hook the PSX2 up to the TV and play music through my receiver, but then I lose the benefit of PSX2's Dolby sound and it plays through my TV speakers which suck.

How have others solved this problem?

Headphones?

Humming your favorite songs while playing?

Get an Xbox?

Dual surround systems playing at the same time?

Anyone else?

This is kind of jury-rigged, but you could always connect an extra CD player to the same set of inputs your PS2 is connected to.....unless you're using the optical connection....Even so, it might be worth it to you to use the analog connection since on 99% of PS2 games the digital connection really doesn't give you anything over the analog....maybe some of the filler-movie sound, but that's about it.

Just get some RCA "Y" cables from radio shack and merge the two sets of cables to the same input.

Getting a good mix might be a problem, but you may be able to make it work.
