I just thought I should post this list to not only remind people to sign the petition & write to Columbia about their unfortunate new policy, but also to get people to realize that the list just keeps on growing.
I will keep adding to this list as soon as I hear of any more titles being released this way. If anyone knows any other titles that Columbia has recently released pan & scan/full frame, please let me know.

So do we know what the status is on the petition? Has it been brought to the attention of Columbia yet? Any word on reaction to it (if any)?

I've signed already, sent e-mail and snail-mail. If anyone has an update on the status of all of this, I'd love to hear it!

Good morning.
I held off on forwarding the petition to Columbia for as long as I could as I wanted to allow opportunity for as many names to get on as possible.
Since the shit basically seemed to hit the fan last week, I felt I could hold off no longer. Last weekend I printed the whole petition (128 pages) and forwarded the hard copy to the DVD Development area of Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment.
It was mailed exactly one week ago today. Feedback was requested.
If I hear anything, I will let you all know.
Thanks for your support of this endeavour. :emoji_thumbsup:

Thanks, Rain, for all your work. It's easy to say something ought to be done, quite another to actually do it. Good job on coming up with the petition and keeping it going.

Rain- If your petition with 128 pages of "please include OAR on all releases" comments doesn't convince Columbia that there is a significant market for OAR, then I have no idea what would convince them. Thanks for the hard work, not to mention the expense of printing and mailing the petition. Let us know if you hear anything.

Thanks again.

I must add my thanks to Rain too. I don't own a computer so it's impossible for me to do anything like Rain has done. Let's hope Columbia wakes up so all your work doesn't go to waste.

I received a review copy of Gillian on Her 37th today and that article on "anamorphic pan and scan" from DVD Angle looks like wishful thinking.

All films should be released in their original aspect ratio so Columbia's habit of releasing films P&S/full frame is disturbing. But it is the inclusion of The Mountain Men on that list that really shocked me! So far, Columbia has been content on relegating their P&S madness to 1.85 features but Mountain Men is 2.35 Panavision!
Is a P&S reissue of Lawrence Of Arabia far behind?

It's an older title, but Columbia Tristar never released a widescreen version of Matilda. When the title was repackaged last year as part of a boxed set with Stuart Little and Madeline, CTHV indicated in a press release that it would be reissued as a widescreen release. It wasn't.

There should be another thread like this for all of the MAR DVDs that Artisan has been dumping on the market.

"Perfect" (scheduled for 1.33:1 DVD release on June 25) is also a 2.35:1 Panavision production. Another 2.35:1 production, "The Journey Of Natty Gann," is scheduled for 1.33:1 pan-and-scan release in a couple weeks from Disney.
