I meant to mention this yesterday, but it got past me.

I wonder if a mod could change the subject of this thread, with MatthewA's permission of course, from "Columbia TriStar adds The Critic to TV on DVD poll" to "Columbia TriStar adds SEVERAL NEW SHOWS to TV on DVD poll"

    Additions are:
    • Action
    • The Critic
    • Donnie and Marie
    • The Nanny (was that there before?)
    • Parker Lewis Can't Lose
    • Route 66
    • Square Pegs
    • and Werewolf

Another one that I'm not sure whether it was there before: Designing Women. I think it was there, but I may be hallucinating.

They need to add Seinfeld but Jerry himself won't let it happen because he's afraid he'll lose syndication rights. Friends is already out on DVD and it's on several stations so I don't see the point. Will happily vote for The Critic though.

Glad this got posted, but the wouldn't let me say that
The Critic was TRULY the only show on their
list that was a "must buy" for me on DVD.

So, I added The Tick, which I love,
but don't think I really need to own.

Columbia doesn't own Seinfeld. It is actually owned by Warner Bros., as they acquired the distributor/owner, Castle Rock Entertainment, when they acquired Turner. Sony only has syndication rights, and when their rights ownership period ends, then those go to WB as well. (WB sure as heck wouldn't allow them to renew...)

GREAT news on The Critic! That, NewsRadio, and Married with Children (season sets, of course) are the 3 C/T television releases I would kill for, not counting from the aforementioned Seinfeld, which Jerry has more of a say in when that is released than C/T, I would imagine.

Come on people, vote for The Critic! [IMG]

Parker Lewis Can't Lose was one of my favorite shows from my teenage years. I'd buy it in a second (in season sets, of course).

Keen. My previous vote had a fair chunk of filler in it, but I've got no problem submitting:

    1. The Tick
    2. Action
    3. Newsradio
    4. Dilbert
    5. Parker Lewis Can't Lose

So is this a constant thing or are we going to find out the results of the poll one day?

Sadly, neither the original nor the new additions really interest me. I wish they'd add Early Edition as a choice.

Nice to see Werewolf on there! It would just be nice though if they weren't adding more titles in there to take away from the votes that were already done...or are they wanting the same people to vote yet again? Either way I quess works you know...

(And Action...I really appreciated this series and nice to see it here, but weren't there less than 13 showings of it anyway...why list it when you know that people want that title...why take away from something else?)

How many episodes of The Critic are there? I would think few enough that the whole series could be one box.

    Chris-

Considering that each episode is less about 23 minutes,
one would think they could put the whole series in one
DVD boxed set. It isn't like someone will want season
    1 and not season 2.*

*I don't know how many seasons there were, but I know
I have seen every episode they show on Comedy Central,
and it doesn't seem like there are more then about 30.

Please, someone feel free to correct me. [IMG]
I love this show, but never have tracked down any real
    data on it.

    regards,
    Mark

Yes, The Critic finally! It appears there were 23 episodes altogether, including the pilot. So one box set, no problem.

The Tick, Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Wow, cool stuff.
