The title says it all, altough a commentary track would be nice.

This would be Universal's call. I hope they are planning this one for the near future.

I was going by what they show at imbd (as well as the old VHS box).

How did this end up at Universal. I do seem to remember from the Colubmia chat waaaay back that they were negotiating to keep the rights to Tess.
This does not sound like something Universal would ever release. They are lacking when it comes to older stuff.

Jason, I stand corrected. I went to IMDB and it lists Columbia as the U.S. distributor, which gives me some hope. The soundtrack album WAS from MCA, so I've had it in my head all this time that Universal released the movie.

"Tess" is a beautiful film & one of Roman Polanski's best IMHO. I'd kill for a nice WS DVD with a director's commentary.
