My daughter seems to want a better color printer that can reproduce photos better. She also wants scanning capabilities so she can send photos via email. Anyone researched something like this or know where I can go to research myself? Price is something to keep in mind since she is in college. Personally, I normally don't like combo anything but it would save desk space. Thanks.

This is the route I am going.. I already have a relatively new

Lexmark Z51 that is nothing short of phenominal on pictures

    at 1200x1200 DPI..

For "all in one" IMHO the best on the market is the Lexmark

X73 and X83 both are essentialy the same product but the

X83 prints at 12PPM where as the 73 does 9 PPM..

The X73 retails for $149.00 and the X83 retails for $199.00

They both Print, Scan,Copy and Fax both scan at 42Bit at

600x1200 DPI Optical and both print at 2400x2400 DPI..

Thanks for the advice Brett. I was afraid no one would answer when it got moved from After Hours. I've been to the computer section a while back and no one seemed to be here. I will be checking out the ones you mentioned. Sounds like they are reasonable in price. It's hard to believe they make such good printers for so little money. Thanks.

I use a HP OfficeJet G85. It's not the cheapest in the range but it is fantastic. It's got colour scanner and copier, colour printer and even built in fax facility.

I bought a HP Print server cheap off ebay so I could connect it to my LAN (the G95 is identical to the G85 except that it comes with the JetDirect and duplex copy module which are optional extras on the G85).

HP also make lower spec OfficeJets which may suit your budget better.
