Well, WSR has given thumbs-up ratings to some pretty disasterous transfers...so I don't hold their assessment in any particularly influential light...

your own perceptions are another matter. I hope you share your comments in the review thread as well.

I trust WSR for the most part. However, I have noticed that sometimes their actual number rating doesn't really match what they say in their description of the video quality.

In other words, they might talk about how bad the edge enhancement is, numerous artifacts, and a soft picture, and then proceed to give it a 4/5 rating. As such, I think it is very important to consider the numerical rating in conjunction with the written description they give.

I agree here that they were a bit on the generous side in giving Cold Mountain a 4.5/5 rating, but like I said, I probably would give it a 4/5 myself. Pretty close!
