According to scooper Daniel Richtman, a sequel to last year’s “Cocaine Bear,” a dark comedy thriller, is in the works, with Elizabeth Banks producing and possibly getting back in the director’s chair.

See now, this is what grinds my gears. A high concept movie comes out of left field that nobody expects to be anything other than a bomb or a joke, it hits big and then suddenly they're talking sequels and franchise. Sucks the originality out of the idea that got them to the public eye to begin with.

A high concept movie comes out of left field that nobody expects to be anything other than a bomb or a joke, it hits big and then suddenly they're talking sequels and franchise. Sucks the originality out of the idea that got them to the public eye to begin with.

I get that. However, maybe there is more mileage they can get out of the concept. I recently read an article saying that some sharks near Brazil have been found to contain large amounts of cocaine. So maybe there can be an interspecies clash of addicted animals in the sequel.
