Coaxial Outputs (1 Viewer)

I have a Marantz DP-870 that has 1 optical and 1 Coax Digital outputs. The Optical works fine but I can't get the Coaxial one to work. Cables are fine between the Sony CD/DVD player too and the Dp-870.

Do these outputs have a seperate fuse? I bought the unit used, everything else works fine. Please let me know before I open this unit up.

Check the manual for your DVD player. Some of them have options to turn-off the digital output, force it to only PCM output (like a CD player), or force it to produce only a Dolby Digital output.

Then check your receiver. For the coaxial-digital input, some receivers will auto-detect, some make you specifiy to expect PCM or Dolby Digital input.

My guess is you have one of the setting different from the the other.
