Closed captioning wouldn't go away on Spy Game (1 Viewer)

The wife and I watched Spy Game over the weekend and we couldn't get rid of the closed captioning. I tried to turn it off using the DVD menus AND the DVD player menus. This worked for a couple of minutes but they came right back. It was very annoying. I didn't know if it was a problem with the DVD or my equipment.

Anybody have this problem too?
