Cleaning the DVD lens (1 Viewer)

I was wondering what I should use to clean the laser lens of my DVD player. I've seen a lot of those discs with the little brushes on them. Are they good to use or will they scratch something? Could somebody recommend a certain type or brand to use? Thanks.

I've got one of the discs you describe. I've only used it once, but it seemed to work (the problem I was having went away). AFAIK there is no problem using one.

My CD player is 10 years old, one of my DVD players is 5+ years old, the other is 2 years old, and I have never once had to clean a lens.
