Are Classic Records' DAD discs incapable of being fast-forwarded or rewound? I have an RP91 and once a song has begun, you can't inch it forward or backward within the song.

    What gives?

It's the way the DADs are authored.

I tried this on both a Kenwood DV-5700 (Panasonic based) and a Meridian 598 (not based on anything) and both fail to FF and REV.

So it's not the Panny RP-91.

I read that a lot of Classic and Chesky DAD's are on sale for about 25% off. I am trying to find out where I can get them. Any one know?

Classic was selling their titles for about 40% off at their booth at CES as they begin preperations for DVD-Audio releases.

These 96/24 DADs sound fantastic. If they're being sold at fire sale prices I need to pick some up!!!

    Philip,

They're at reduced prices, not "firesale". The 25% off puts it down to DVD-A / SACD territory.

The 40% off at their CES table was very successful, and they were selling titles hand over fist (so to speak).

I picked up John Coltrane's "Blue Trane", Alan Parson's "I Robot" and Dr. Johns "The Brightest Smile in Town" for $45.

Pick up what you can, as you said they sound fantastic.

    Regards,
