Has anyone uses Clarions 32" sub (SRW8000) for a home theater. I have heard a few in cars but never in a home. Just looking for feedback, I could get one fairly cheap, Wondering if it would be worth my time.

The T/S params should tell most of the story.

    What are they?

All I could find was Qts: 0.4, Fs: 17, Vas: 312.9 and that Vas number seems suspiciously low to me...

And how cheap is fairly cheap?

Here are the real T-S parameters.

I had to "hack" clarion's site to get 'em.

    Fs: 17Hz
    Vas: 100.13ft^3
    Mmd: 613.2g
    Qes: 0.42
    Qms: 8.86
    Qts: .4
    Sd: 596.5in^2
    Max stroke: 18.3mm
    Xmax. Lin.: 13.8mm

It would be real interesting in a 100cu-ft box with 4 8" ports each 13" long.

Hmm, 10L of Vd from a Carion 32" sub or 10L of Vd from a pair of Tumults or 4 Tempests. I wouldn't have to think very hard about those choices.

    Dustin,

We never said the sub was practical. I myself want to see what the Resonant Engineering/Adire 24" ends up like myself.

I think I'd have to hear/feel it before I could make that call Allen. [IMG]

The Calarion is only goodfor 60hz or lower and down.
    It needs really strong midbass.
