A great animation director has died.

Jones left a legacy of some of the best animation ever made like What's Opera Doc, One Froggy Evening, and even Rabbit of Seville. Also the great Roadrunner cartoons.

In honor of him, buy a product from Acme.

This is terrible news. Another of the great pioneers of animation gone. I always thought that his Bugs Bunny toons were some of the best made. In honor of him I will buy something from Warner Bros. just as soon as they get off their duffs and start releasing them. Are you listening Warners??!!

    Damn [IMG]
I just realized that I like him as a director more than some of the nominees over in the Great Directors Tourney [IMG] (which is something over in the polls section for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about).

He was definitely a major pioneer of American animation. I was amazed recently when I watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" just how fresh and striking it looked. I love animation and even when compared to the most recent visually stunning films from Japan, Chuck Jones's animation still looks vibrate and new. He will most definitely be missed, but I have a feeling that he will continue to live on through his work. A toast to Chuck Jones...

The creator of the Warner Brothers characters (most importantly, Bugs Bunny) that I and millions of others grew up with and continue to adore is dead at the age of 89. [IMG] He died Friday eveing of heart failure according to the story on CNN.

If anyone ever deserved a tribute it is this man. His cartoons were always the best IMHO. Very sad, but unavoidable day for fans of animation everywhere.

I was looking out for number three. First was Kevin Smith (Ares from Herc & Xena). Then the great John Thaw. Now the legendary Chuck Jones.
It's been a sad old week.
