Everyone who has liked any rock and roll song from the last 60 some years owes thanks to Chuck Berry.

One of the greats of Rock and Roll, gone.
I'm all in for a blu-ray of American Hot Wax and of Hail! Hail! Rock 'N' Roll.

I'm very sad to hear of Chuck Berry's passing, although I know he hadn't been well for awhile! Had a weird feeling about him lately, actually. Of course, he was 90!

Yes, I agree that HAIL! HAIL! ROCK 'N' ROLL (1987), and especially AMERICAN HOT WAX (1979) absolutely NEED proper Blu-ray releases! In my opinion, anyone with even a casual interest in Rock 'N' Roll's early days NEEDS to view the latter title at least once! That it isn't even available on DVD is an appalling travesty!!!! Not an opinion - HARD FACT!!!!

My condolences to Chuck's family and friends! May he Rest in Peace! :(

Another great one has passed. As more and more music greats leave this realm, I'm reminded of the line from the Righteous Brothers' Rock and Roll Heaven....

If there's a rock and roll heaven,
Well you know they got a helluva band...

He may be gone, but as Bob Seger said, "all Chuck's children are out there playing his licks". And hopefully will be for a long time to come.

    R.I.P.

I'm reminded by a Neil Young quote where he describes how rock all falls between the feel of The Rolling Stones, and the perfection of The Beatles.

I'd add that neither the Stones or the Beatles would of existed without Chuck, so huge was his impact.

I grew up with his music, as well as his contemporaries. Out of the founders, only Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis are still around. All the originals are passing.

    Russell,

You are right and I suspect both the Stones and the Fabs would agree. in fact:

If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'. John Lennon quote
