What are some good gift ideas this season. I'm struggling with ideas for a few people.
Sarah, Male? Female? Bison? Ages? I'm not too bad at this type o' gig.
Thanks. Male, 26. 2 girls, 6-7. Mother and Father. I've got a few ideas, but just looking for some other input.
If they like gadgets or are the geeky type, this place never disappoints:
I could stay on that think geek site for a while. That's awesome. I might get myself one of those Namco game machines. I've gotten these little toys called Bed Buggs for my little sister, a football jersey for my brother, and a scarf for my older sister. I'll probably check out Ebay and overstock for some stuff too. Any more fun sites out there?
Joe beat me to it. That site is cool huh?
When I'm stumped I fish around
http://www.surprise.com/. Usually will jar the brain.
And Sarah, every guy I know, wants to own a piece of Mars.
well yeah, that'll keep me busy for sure. There's all kinds of stuff on those sites. thanks for the links. It's a good thing too because now I'm looking for gifts for some older people in my family. The kids stuff is usually pretty easy because they are easily pleased. The bed buggs and the football jersey will be sure winners, along with an action figure I got for my little cousin.
Those sites give a ton of unique options...I like that.
OK, I'll be at surprise.com all morning. Bookmark it, thanks Zen!
Sarah - I usually get ideas from thinkgeek and then search online for lower prices. If I want 2-3 things, I'll get it from them but for just one item eBay usually has what I want cheaper.
A donation in their name to the Human Fund is always a crowd pleaser!
Haha...classic George reference!
Thanks for all the ideas. did some more shopping online this weekend and had some good luck. Getting there
Those bedbugg things so like a good option for my cousins. What exactly are they?
I got myself this knife sharpener after seeing on the food network. It works very well, it's not really a sharpener as a good knife should be professionally sharpened. It hones the knife. I like how it works, very clever. Would make a great gift for someone with a good set of knives that wants to take care of them.
here's the link to my purchase but they are available on ebay still:
My father has a good set of knives, but I don't know if he needs a new sharpner. Will have to ask my mother to see what the deal is, but good idea...
I found that one of the best gifts to give, regardless of age or gender, are movie passes. For people who "have everything" I always get movie passes or some type of video store gift certificates that cover rentals or purchases.
My parents like to travel a lot. I got them a gift certificate to Best Western for Christmas, as there really wasn't anything else that they wanted.
Sarah, those sound pretty cute . . . velcro mouths, eh? I'll have to check 'em out. I never know what to get the kids in the fam, so thanks for the idea!
Anything handmade is always a big plus in my book. Do you sew, crochet or craft?
Right now I am working on a pair of gloves (crocheted) for myself and then I am going to do a pair for each of the kids.
Did someone say "Fun Sites"???
Mark - those sites are pretty awesome. some crazy stuff on there. Wish I had seen some of those earlier. I found a couple gifts that would have been perfect. I guess it might be too late now to try to get something before x-mas, but perfect for birthdays.
It's always tough to figure out. Who knows if they'll like whatever you get them or if they'll play with something for 10 minutes and put them down. I thought the bed bugg toys would be a pretty safe bet because if they like em, they can carry them around...
