First off: I may be visiting Chicago soon. Hopefully someone on this list knows of a good A/V place where I might actually get to see some properly set up RPTV and FPs. So far my experience with these formatrs has been relegated to Best Buy and they obviously don't calibrate anything.

Secondly: I was looking at the 50" (or is it 52"?)Samsung DLP at BB. They had posted that the set converts all signals to 720p. Can anyone explain this. Can it not do 1080i? Does it upconvert DVD's to 720? Just a BB mismark or what?

Thanks a lot.

Sorry I can't help you with the first part, but I can help out on the second part. DLP, like LCD is a "fixed pixel" display format. All sources are converted to the native resolution of the display device, in the case of the Samsung DLP set, 1280x720.
