I live in an apartment where I can;t get Time Warner HD, and they have a deal with DirecTV. There is a big, shared satellite for the whole apartment. So I have DirecTV, but can't get DirecTV HDTV. Can anyone suggest the most inexpensive way for me to get HDTV in my apartment. I don't have a STB yet. Is there a way to get an DirecTV oval dish and STB for cheap? or rent them? I don't know much about this. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Your only hope for HDTV is getting it off the air with a antenna and set top box. I don't know which Austin stations are doing digital(I'm guessing KXAN and KVUE at least) and if you live in north Austin, you might get KWTX out of Waco in HD.
