I live in a dorm room and would like very much to connect my tv to my computer, via the s-video out on the computer. My TV, a Toshiba 20" flat, has a plethora of inputs on the back and there is an S-video. I could probably get away with 15 feet, but I'm almost sure that 12 feet is going to be too short. I don't need a super quality one, because I'm not doing anything too special and plus I'm a student and need to save money. I went to Rat Shack and they had 12 footers for $20 and a link for the 2 for $5. $45 for the cable?!?!?!?! If there is a way to do this myself (I might be able to get to a soldering iron, but I can't have one in my dorm) I will gladly do it or if there is a nice, dirt cheap place online to get the cable. Also, if there is a cheap converter to S-vid to composite (rat shack had one for $20) I would go for that too. I have my DVD connected with s-vid and wouldn't want to move it (only have one in the back of the TV) but would move to component if needed. Thanks all.
