I'd like to pick up a cheap PDA to read books in PDF and CHM formats, as well as play chess on the go. I'm not sure how CPU and memory specs work on these things, so how cheap can I go?

Would something like a PalmIIIxe with 16mhz/8Mb be enough? More than enough?

Ive got a Handspring Visor Deluxe with similar specs (not sure of processor power, but its 8MB), and i use to to read PDFs, Docs/Spreadsheets (with Documents to go), Minesweeper, and AvantGo websites just fine.

Though PDFs take a few seconds to load when changing pages.
