John,
That is a very slick idea. I like it. Pretty damn stylish too.
I'm getting ready to haul all my gear down to my new basement HT room and your concept is quite innovative. I will consider it for my dipole rears. Only issue would be that one of my side walls is slightly partitioned and would not allow me to match up to the opposite walls "sconce" placement. I will have to think about this idea of yours a bit further............
Thanks,
BOK

John - Nice!!
Before I went to towers in the back, I had a $100 solution for each:
72" (or so) tall cat trees!
I was always nervous that the critters would claw up my speakers up there after they had climbed the trees, but they never messed with them.

They come in that white color. Not sure what type of white it is. The shelves come with two screws and anchors.
So, if you get these make sure they have the screws taped to the inside lid.

John,
How big is the platform part of the larger ones? I am wondering if they could hold my B&W 601's.

If you guys don't have a Target near by, Hobby Lobby and Michael's carry similar shelving also. Nice set up!

John,
That is a nice idea, but for your bipolar rears they are not a good idea. The bipolar surrounds need some space behind them to have the best sound. There are brackets that can hold these speaker from top or bottom and give you some stand off from the wall. Look at Mike Knapps DIY rear wall brackets.
Just my 2 cents.
Adam.

Adam,
That is true about the bipolars, but I got tired of looking around for something that would accomidate, plus that wall I have is really sensitive(apt. walls), so these shelves are the only things that are holding up.
I have the bipolar turned at a slight angle where both sides get the space.
but I think this is a GREAT idea for people with speakers like my Sony's.

Adam,
You wouldn't happen to have a link to the Mike Knapp's DIY brackets you mentioned above? I tried to search but the function not available right now.
Thanks,
Rod
