MGM is releasing Charly on October 19 and I am wondering about one thing - will it be a modified P&S edition or if it is made available in its OAR ( 1:85? ) I wonder about the very real possibility of getting a non enhanced version. It is somewhat ridiculous when one cannot rely on a studio to get it right the first time and the whole thing becomes a guessing game. But, given MGM's track record I will not hold my breath.
When they make the effort at least it is commendable on their part. By the way, for some reason I thought Warner Brothers owned this film.

I would hope this is wide screen, as IIRC, there is a split screen/muli-screen segment in the middle of this, that pans like crazy on all the versions I've seen of this. It would be nice to see it as the film makers intended.

It is pan-scanned from 2.35 Panavision. Apparently, this is to appease the "Sam Walton" audience this is being marketed to.
