The sears battery charger has two settings, what would be the difference in the charging algorithm for a deep cycle battery vrs a conventional one? The manual doesn't explain the difference, can't find an online reference...

I'm guessing that charging a deep cycle battery would take longer and be more gradual. I have a deep cycle battery on my backup sump pump.

Could be, the manual states for the save RC (reserve capacity) the deep cycle charging time is about 2.5 times longer than for a conventional battery at the same state of charge.

Both are the same lead-acid, just the DC batteries supposedly have thicker plates...
