Is it possible to change Home theater HT DVD Player to Blue Ray player with same speaker?

I have Samsung HT-TX25 HT which has DVD player, now i'm planning to buy Samsung Blue ray BD-P2500. I would like to know whether i can hook up my old speaker to the new Blue ray player which has 7.1. The speaker points /Pin on the Blue ray player box looks different .Can i use the same Pin /wire to the old speaker to new Blue ray player or it requires seprate amplifier ?

You have what is called a "Home Theater in a Box". The DVD is in the same unit as the AVR. The Blu-Ray player you are looking at is just a player. It does not have built in amps, so you cannot directly connect speakers to it.

After quick scan of the manual for your current unit, I don't believe you can connect anything but 2 channel analog to it. You could use this to connect the Blu-Ray player, but you will not get any of the digital audio formats (only 2 channel stereo).

Your unit lacks any kind of digital audio (coax or optical) or analog multi-channel inputs. You may want to consider replacing your HT-TX25 with a home theater receiver.

Yamaha makes some nice low-end receivers with analog 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1 inputs.

If your budget is tight, you can probably use your existing speakers for now, and upgrade those at a later date.
