I'm going to be upgrading to a plasma moniter from a rear projection set. Currently i have the Center channel sitting on top of the TV. With the plasma moniter which will sit on a tv stand I was wondering what a good height would be for the center channel speaker to be ? This will determine what piece of furniture i get.

that's what I was thinking but if the moniter is going to sit on a tv stand with a shelf below it, your looking at probabaly 12-20" depending on the unit. Would this adversely affect sound quality ?

Your CC was probably not at ear hight on you CRT RPTV. Probably higher than 34 inches. So, with the plasma it will be lower, it seems. Tilting it upwards is as good as you can do if you are restriced to placing it on the tv stand.
